In 2004 my parents, Francine Satijn and Loek Mandaat, bought an old dilapidated winery a few years before their retirement. When they bought the Quinta it had been empty for 15 years. The first five years have therefore been devoted to inventing, planning and renovating ideas, with or without the help of Portuguese fellow citizens. The goal was to build two apartments next to their own home where people can feel at home.

In 2014, I, Lars Mandaat, also emigrated to Portugal and took over the management of the rental. Claudia the mother of my son Fadi (2011) makes the bookings and also manages her own quinta 5 kilometers away.

I now not only rent the apartments, but also the wooden log cabin, the Rondavel. A Yurt (large Mongolian tent) and the Lotus, (a large so-called bell tent). The last two with associated private shower and kitchen buildings. We still have many new plans. We are working hard on a playhouse, "Casa da Joga", with a billiards table, shuffleboards and other games.

Many activities are also organized. Would you like to join us at our 'sardinhada', or participate in the 'pancake walk', or maybe even taste wine at a beautiful wine farm a little further away?

We take care of the activities, give the tips and possibly make the reservations.
